- Busted! It was Eve who first ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden, then she did give some to Adam who also ate. BUT, no modern translation of the Bible says it was an Apple - it is simply called the fruit of the tree.
- Genesis 3:6 (NASB) - When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
- Busted! Jonah was swallowed by a huge/great fish but the fish is not identified as a whale in the Book of Jonah.
- Jonah 1:17 (NASB) - And the LORD designated a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish for three days and three nights.
- Jonah 2:10 (NASB) - Then the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah up onto the dry land.
- It is interesting to note, In Matthew 12:40, some translations when referring back to the original story from Jonah, call the great fish a whale (KJV) and some a sea monster (NASB).
- Busted! The only real verse that can claim to come close is Job 38:7 which says (NASB): When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy? Many Biblical scholars argue "morning stars" is a synonym for angels. However, the Hebrew (Old Testament) word for angel is malach (מַלְאָך) and the Greek (New Testament) word for angel is ángelos (άγγελος). Nowhere in the Bible do these Hebrew or Greek "angels" sing. The most common verse that comes to mind to debunk this claim is when the angels visited the shepherds on the night of Jesus' birth. The verses are Luke 2:13-14 - And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased. Notice that the angels were "praising" and "saying", not "singing." Another verse that comes to mind is Revelation 5:11 - Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands. But again, the verse refers to the "voices" of many angels not the "song" or "singing" of many angels.
